This recipe is very easy to prepare. Scallops are packed with flavor and are similar in taste to lobster. I like to prepare this recipe only using fresh scallops that are never frozen. Frozen scallops tend to retain water and do not sear as well in the pan. This recipe is easy to make and is served with fresh lemon butter.

Ingredients:
1lb fresh scallops
2 Tbs. butter
1 Tbs. olive oil
Sea salt
Black pepper
Old Bay seasoning

- Skillet Cast iron or stainless steel
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh scallops never frozen preferred
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
Instructions
- Rinse scallops with water and pat dry. Remove the small side muscle from the scallops as well.
- Add butter and olive to skillet on high heat.
- Season with salt, pepper, and a dash of Old Bay seasoning.
- Once the oil and butter get hot, add scallops to skillet and flip once, until golden brown and translucent. This typically takes 1-2 minutes per side.
- After cooking, set aside and sprinkle with fresh lemon juice and serve with warm butter.
